Fisherman’s Wharf and Cannabis Education Consultants SeaWeed SF invite you to explore the history of San Francisco’s cannabis industry with a special book signing event on Saturday, April 23rd from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. at the Fisherman’s Wharf Plaza with one of San Francisco’s most renowned writers Alia Volz, author of Home Baked: My Mom, Marijuana, and the Stoning of San Francisco.
Alia is the daughter of the larger-than-life woman who ran Sticky Fingers Brownies, an underground bakery that delivered upwards of 10,000 illegal marijuana edibles per month and helped provide pot brownies in an epidemic, in this case, the AIDS crisis in San Francisco. Sticky Fingers Brownies started right here in Fisherman’s Wharf, alongside the buskers and fishing industry, and this book signing event will pay homage to San Francisco’s literary history and marijuana legalization triumphs in the iconic Fisherman’s Wharf neighborhood.
The book signing will be a great opportunity for visitors to meet Alia in person, buy a book and a T-Shirt and have it signed. We've lined up a Q&A panel with KPFA. The Doggie Diner Heads will be there. It's a whole fun thing!
